April 8th, 9 a.m.: Copper is hopping around the driveway. Another rabbit, the same size, is hopping around too. It has the brown colorings of a wild rabbit, but is bigger. The brown rabbit even sniffed around the area where Copper has dug the holes. I took some pics through the window and will try to add them in the morning.
April 7th, 5:30 p.m.: Copper has dug the hole out again. She has grass in her mouth that she is taking down into the hole. She then covers the hole and I see her sitting away in the yard. Seems that she's preparing for babies. I am just amazed at how quickly she opens and closes the hole. I'll try to get some pictures the next time I see her working on it.
Sunday, April 6, 2008: A few years ago someone let their long eared pet rabbits loose. Since then we have had many long eared rabbits of many colors running wildly through our tiny neighborhood of about 20 houses in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, last Sunday below my window, near my computer, a deep hole was dug under a bench that sits there. A coppery colored long eared rabbit has been seen about the area. I think her name is “copper”
8 a.m.: I just checked and this hole has been covered over with what looks like leaves and sticks; so I presume there's to be babies soon. I know they are rodents and they eat my flowers, but I am excited to see what the babies will look like.
9 a.m. Update: Copper is uncovering the hole; or is she digging another beside the original one? Looks like another hole to me. She is now down in it and just peeked out. This is near to the driveway, so a lot of what she’s dug out of the hole is gravel and stones. Wish I had my camera but it is in the car. If I retrieve it, she’ll hide.
10:04 a.m. She’s filling in the 2nd hole now. Cannot tell holes were ever there as they are covered with leaves, twigs…
Last night, Feb. 29th, I was privileged to hear and meet the author at the Beachwood Public Library in Ohio. David Oliver Relin was very interesting and inspiring in person, too. He showed slides that made the story even become more alive in my mind. He wanted all of us to remember this quote: "The real enemy is ignorance!" The audience was about half men, and I say this because a friend thought I was promoting a "chick book"! If you have the opportunity to hear him, please make the effort!

FABULOUS// Greg Mortenson is my hero!! true story and so amazing!
I just added another recent photo of myself and realized both photos have wine bottles in them. I do enjoy a glass of wine before and/or with dinner. I am sipping a glass of "Son of Hammer" from a local winery as I type this.
I had hoped someone would decide to create a wine group at seniorocity. I asked many, from that other place, to begin one here, but seems I was not successful. I have taken wine classes, toured and tasted my way through many wineries all over the U.S. I have even played quite a few games of bocce in Portland, OR at Ponzi wineries. If there are other wine lovers here, I'll gladly begin the group and we can share the bottles we are trying. Just let me know.
Update!! I checked again and a group, The Wine Bar, has been started here!! Hooray! I hope many will join.
